 About WeCare Ministry

We Care Compassion Ministries is a faith-based organization under the umbrella of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries. Our Mission is to provide resources for those who are under-served in society. Our target area is the City of Chicago and our target population is those who are low to moderate income and minorities without exclusions. We want to assist in alleviating basic human needs by providing nutritious foods, housing, advocacy, education and community partnership that will promote deliverance of many societal ills and generational problems. We promote dignity, restoration of justice and integrity in the community.

One of our goals is to expand our social and human service ministries by adding one or more services annually. These ministries would aide in the spiritual, personal, professional and financial development of individuals and families that are considered at risk. Such services would speak to; housing, nutrition & health, academics & education, mentoring, healthy families & marriages, character, ethics & etiquette, employ-ability, health & wellness, leadership development & civic duties, among others.

We offer violin and piano instruction for children. We operate a food pantry, clothing closet, case management and referral services to those in need. We provide a free lunch once monthly to those who are less fortunate. The lunches are distributed to those in areas where there is a high concentration of homeless and drug addicted individuals. We are a host site for a food co-op program that is volunteer-run. Participants can purchase nutritious groceries and produce 30-50% less than those in the supermarkets and there is no membership cost associated.

We are a contracted energy center service site or CEDA LIHEAP intake site. We also process ComEd Hardship and weatherization applications. We conduct nutrition, health & wellness, financial management & budgeting clinics on a monthly basis. In addition, we offer family, marital and parenting counseling and workshops. Our future goals are to provide mentorship programs for American men, women, children and families and provide job and entrepreneurial training.

 Our Foundational Principles of Stability

Hope

One should have a vision that includes their hopes and dreams. Plan and set goals while refraining from negative outcomes. Have no FEAR – False Evidence Appearing Real.

Personal Responsibility

Reliance upon yourself with assistance from others. As one is working to take control or maintain their life; making wise choices that are in line with one’s goals is essential.

Support

Recognizing that stability in life is not a journey that we walk alone. We must utilize our support systems that are comprised of family, friends. Clergy and other healthy relationships.

Education

Being knowledgeable about one’s condition or situation puts us in the position to make educated decisions that will be an advantage to their live. Research information that will help you.

Self-Advocacy

Persevere and be courageous. Express yourself in a manner that is pleasing and comprehensive to all that are involved.

Spirituality

Soul searching is essential! One has to discover what their purpose is in live to become productive citizens. This begins with developing a relationship with the Divine Power that is greater than oneself.

Our Core Values and Beliefs

Community Partnership: We believe in a shared responsibility with other community organizations committed to engaging families in meaningful, culturally respectful ways as well as families that are actively supportive of learning and in their development.

Health & Well-Being: We believe that everyone has the right to have access to proper medical care and that one should work toward maintaining his or her body and health.

Basic Needs: We believe that everyone has the right to nutritious foods, warm and suitable clothing and shelter from environmental elements.

Family: We believe in the stability and health of the family unit. This consists of father, mother, children and extended family members. We utilize relationship building tools in efforts to promote maintenance of the family.

Education: We believe that everyone has the right to an education at any level or institution of their choice. Education affords one the opportunity to advance and prosper in this life.

Entrepreneurial Endeavors & Stewardship: We believe in commerce and marketplace leadership. Owning a business allows one the opportunity to have an independence that an employee may not have. One can also set standards in business that is sometimes absent in the modern world. It gives one the opportunity to set the pace in the marketplace and become a pioneer in their industry.

Employment: We believe that being gainfully employed builds character in an individual and gives one pride that they are providing for themselves and their loved ones by honest gain.

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Ecclesiastes 9:10, Ephesians 6:5-9.
